How do you go about finding the Best Web Design Agencies? Well, we’ve thought about that here, and while we think we are hands down the best, we know that smart clients should do their research. So, we put together a list of the top 3 things you should look at to pick the best web design agency for you!
A portfolio is important for any design agency to show. While it isn’t the only factor, it should play a strong part in which agency you pick. The best web design agencies are ones that have enough projects to show so you know they can design a great website. It doesn’t have to be a ton, but a solid 5-10 GREAT websites is a good start and gives you an idea of quality of design.
Accolades & Accreditation
This comes in quite a few different forms. We’ve been on lists, such as this Best Web Design Agencies Of 2020 on Web Design Companies. We have also gotten recognized by DesignRush & Clutch with small awards in 2019. These accolades are great to have, but know that they are a small indicator of performance. Ones like Clutch do require you to have things like a great review (they specifically interview your client themselves).
This is quite obvious, but have to put it here. Maybe you got passed their information from a friend, maybe you went straight to their contact form, or even yet, contacted them through maps or a directory. Well, it would be a good idea to look around at their website and get some basic info about them. Maybe they have pricing? We don’t have much pricing as things are so custom for our clients, but we do have a minimum budget to engage with us. You can check out our Contact page to see ours.
Yes, we’re saying it. Look at more than one company. You should get a quote from a few people. No, going with the cheapest probably isn’t the answer, but there is likely something to learn from each agency by going through their process to get you a quote. Don’t waste their time though, make sure you have a budget, or get a ballpark one from them and see how it feels. If you have a $10,000 budget and their minimum engagement is $50,000, don’t waste either of your time and politely back out letting them know you don’t have the budget. It’ll save you and them time, and both of your time is valuable.
If you take a look at each of these three things, you should have a good idea of what they are, who they are, and what they can do for you. Once you find the right team that really clicks with you and your team, if you have one, have fun and enjoy the process! Creating a website should a fun process.
