Alex then explains that going green with your money is not always the expensive or unprofitable choice and that you might even end up better off as when you started and talks about the future of her company. About Alex Wright-Gladstein:
Alex Wright-Gladstein is the founder and CEO of Sphere, a public benefit corporation that is amplifying a
social movement to get retirement savings money out of fossil fuel companies. Sphere helps US employers
provide employees with an authentic climate-friendly investment option in their 401(k)s and 401(b)s,
without having to compromise on maintaining their fiduciary duty, with a quality product at reasonable fees.
Prior to founding Sphere, Alex was founding CEO of Ayar Labs, an MIT technology spinout company that has
raised over $100M and makes data centers and supercomputers faster and more energy efficient by using
light to move data between chips. She has also been the energy entrepreneurship practice leader at MIT and an energy efficiency program manager and energy markets specialist at smart grid company EnerNOC (now Enel X). She received an MBA from MIT and a BA in Political Science and Economics from Tufts University.
